Fled from slavery, Somerset County, Maryland,

Biography:

    George and his older brother Daniel in the spring of 1840. His owner Jesse Walter offered a 200 dollar reward for the two men, at least one of whom he supposed would "make his way to Philadelphia where it is believed his father resides."
