Biography:

   Dennis fled from the Whitehaven area of Somerset County in September, 1855. He and fellow slave George escaped from Alexander Donoho, who placed an advertisment in the Weekly Clipper soon after the incident. $600 was offered for the two men, though little additional information was provided about Dennis.
