James Henry (b. circa 1826)
MSA SC 5496-1523
Fled from slavery, Somerset County, Maryland, 1856

Biography:

Ran away from William Coulbourn, who in addition to reciting the standard descriptive features, reflects that Henry generally "looks glum when spoken to." Perhaps that disposition states the runaway's feeling about his station in life and why he chose to pursue freedom.
